Monatomic
A downloadable game for Windows
Fossil Fuels ran low. Helium wasn't flammable enough... Solar Panels were composed of photovoltaic cells that converted sunlight into electricity. Over time, Solar Panels broke down releasing toxic materials, such as lead into the ecosystem. Thus, landfills full of new environmental hazards formed. Wind turbines couldn't be built and operated on a large enough scale without fossil fuels. Neither solar nor wind power could sustain a lasting economy.
In an effort to save humanity, one scientist, Dr. Douglas Bones, has discovered the next step in humanity's evolution.

Could be a great game but the lack of checkpoints makes this a PITA.
Like for example I got to the point where I had the wall climb upgrade and tried to climb the right side wall and managed to get stuck in the wall. Well, not much choice. can just wait for battery to go down to zero, die and replay the whole game :-/
Shoot! I am sorry you ran into that bug. I thought I had completely ironed it out, but of course, fixing bugs never ends!
The "one-life" approach was something that we decided early on for the game-jam this was entered into. We have plans in the future for a version with different difficulties, so the checkpoints would be incorporated there! For the hardest mode though, we would still keep it to one life.
Thanks for playing though, hopefully you will have less of a headache with the "remaster". :)
Phenomenal! From gameplay to aesthetics, you captured a very unique platformer experience! roguelike is a perfect fit for the length of this game! I'm impressed with your ability to scale difficulty while maintaining a healthy ratio of forgiveness to punishment as the game progresses. KEEP MAKING GAMES! You have something here...

Thank you! We really appreciate your take on our little project! We had a lot of fun planning and developing this game, and are already making small moves on our next adventure :)
